ELECTRIC TEMPLE
High Voltage Salvation
Eonian Records
In this day and age musicians must diversify and get the gigs when and how they can. Two guys that know all about that are frontman Andrew Freeman, who has become known as the singer for LAST IN LINE featuring former DIO members Vinny Appice and Vivian Campbell. Freeman has joined forces with journeyman drummer Matt Starr, who is best known for his work with BLACK SWAN, touring member of the ACE FREHLEY band and his role in MR. BIG stepping in for the late Pat Torpey. Freeman and Starr along with bassist Mike Duda (W.A.S.P.) and guitarist Tony Childs have formed ELECTRIC TEMPLE.
The band's debut album titled High Voltage Salvation is a power house collection of modern rock tunes that are sure to catch the attention of old school rockers, fans of contemporary rock and the followers of the members of the band. As you read this you are probably thinking "oh, another of those 'lifeless' widget type projects". Not the case at all. ELECTRIC TEMPLE has the energy and vibe of a 'real' band. High Voltage Salvation was produced by the band's guitarist Tony Childs and showcases Freeman's distinct pipes; this collection of tunes IS Freeman's most diverse work to date. He's shown us his ability to do the vocal shape shifting when he steps in established bands. With ELECTRIC TEMPLE you hear it with original material.
The highlights on High Voltage Salvation in this writer's opinion are; opener "Death Wish" has a fitting go for the throat aggression to it, "Big Black Hole" is where we find Freeman channeling his best Dee Snider vocal, the groove heavy "Kill Or Be Killed", the brilliantly melodic "World's On Fire", and my favorite, the stellar "Am I Damned". We at KNAC.COM are a little late to the party on this one, but I'm glad we arrived fashionably late. If you're looking for a new band with heavy, melodic, memorable well crafted tunes look no further than ELECTRIC TEMPLE and High Voltage Salvation.
