OFFICER X
Hell Is Coming
Winter Records
OFFICER X is an old school, traditional metal band from Boston, Massachusetts. After listening to their hard rocking, fist pumping debut album that is filled with metallic sounds, serious guitar riffing to die for, drums that sound like thunder and vocals that will make your ears bleed, it just leaves you screaming for more.
All 8 songs on OFFICER X's monster debut album Hell Is Coming have convinced me of that and I now have my proof that metal is still very much alive and well. Fear not, when I tell you that metal is indeed not dead so reports that it is are indeed fake news.
Most of the 8 tracks on this fist pumping, head banging debut album that any metal fan will no doubt want to mosh to, are all in the style of traditional heavy metal. There are a couple of songs on the album that show a softer, different side of the band and those two standout tracks are "The City And The Stars (1,000 Million Years)" and "Sam In Seven". Now, please make no mistake about it because neither of these songs are even close to being a power ballad but rather just shows another side of what the band can do.
And what they do is deliver a debut album loaded with well written metal tunes that are loaded with killer riffs. So believe me when I tell you that OFFICER X delivers the metal goods here with their brand of metal with melody.
Fans of PRIEST, MAIDEN and DIO will love OFFICER X.
