What do you get when you cross new rock sound with talented Christian musicians? You get SKILLET!!
Formed in 1996 with a few line up changes since, the current line up has been together for more than 6 years and has got it down to perfection. SKILLET has 2 Grammy nominations, platinum and double platinum record sales and continues to sell out venues. The band has a new album DOMINION arriving in January 2022. Their new single arrived a few weeks ago, "Surviving The Game".
The song is a hard hitting tune about not living in fear and staying strong in your faith. The band consists of two men and two women and all four bring an equal amount of talent. Each one brings something unique and powerful.
John Cooper- Vocals & Bass
Korey Cooper - Guitar & Keyboards
Jen Ledger- Drums & Backing Vocals
Seth Morrison- Guitar & Backing Vocals
The show was almost completely sold out and what really caught my eye was the varied ages. Everyone was just as excited and totally into the show as the next. The “Panheads”, as SKILLET calls them, were out in full force singing along with every song.
It was especially nice to go to a show that had zero foul language and other things you experience at most rock concerts. It’s definitely a show that you can bring the young rockers to.
The set list was as follows:
- "Feel Invincible"
- "Not Gonna Die"
- "Sick Of It"
- "Whispers In The Dark"
- "Legendary"
- "Lions"
- "Surviving The Game" (new single)
- "Awake & Alive"
- "Back From The Dead"
- Drum Solo
- "Hero"
- "Anchor"
- "Undefeated"
- "Stars" (Acoustic)
- "Comatose"
- "Monster"
- "Rebirthing"
Encore:
Overall my thought was the show was nothing short of spectacular!
When I left I was so motivated and felt so positive. It’s definitely a feel good show for all ages and alI life styles. I highly recommend this show and this band. 5 Stars
