In just a couple of weeks 2022 will be coming to an end and as I sit here like many other metal fans out there, I'm pretty sure there's a good chance that many of you out there have never heard of TRP (THAEN RASMUSSEN PROJECT). The band is led by Guitarist Thaen Ramussen and I'll tell you, the band has a sound that takes me back to the days of classic hard rock/metal in the vein of JUDAS PRIEST and early METALLICA. TRP has delivered a metal masterpiece in the form of their selt titled album here which is loaded with 10 killer tracks that will make any, real, true metal head proud to bang their head and raise their fist and yell!
TRP to my ears is a band led by future Guitar God Thaen Rasmussen who plays quite masterfully, I have no doubt that he could shred with the best of the shredders out there but what makes this band a top notch act is that Rasmussen is more about playing to fit the song rather than trying to make each song a vehicle to be a shred fest. All the songs are really well-written and that's why I'd say that this album could easily fit on any metal fan's playlist!
I must also mention that lead singer Torre Carstensen is also a very important part of this band in that his vocal ability is what really makes these songs so powerful! Carstensen throughout the album sounds like Rob Halford/James Hetfield and Glenn Hughes! So I predict by 2023 a lot more people will have heard of this band.
As far as how I'd describe the overall sound of the band? Hard rock/metal music that is fantastic/beautiful/intense/heavy/ and inspiring!
