Thee Indomitable Spirit is the latest release from the Indiana based hybrid metal band SCREAMKING.
Have you ever bought an album and left feeling a little disappointed, like the album you just purchased was more filler material than anything else? That's not what you get here. This is one band that does not have to worry about the sophomore jinx on their 3rd album as it's a full throttle collection of huge metallic riffs to bang your head and mosh to. SCREAMKING has influences from classic old school metal as well as power metal where they do it in a way where they've got a fresh, original sound that really is all their own.
The entire band is on fire but it is SCREAMKING lead screamer Joe Lawson that is a focal point of the band. He really can reach those high notes that makes you think you were actually listening to legendary singers like Halford, Dio, or Dickinson. That's easy to understand when I know that those were some of the guys who influenced Joe. Joe really shines throughout the entire album with some of my favorite songs off the album being "Reign of Fire", "Legacy of Honor" and "Unleashing The Demon".
In listening to the entire CD, you get a total of 17 headbanging tunes that would be any true metalhead’s delight. SCREAMKING really delivered the goods on this one because they delivered to their old and new fans an album that does not sound like every other metal band out there. SCREAMKING have made Thee Indomitable Spirit a new blueprint for other metal bands to follow on what a great metal album should be overall.
The album also features special guests such as vocalists Tim “Ripper” Owens, Ronny Munroe and guitarists Joe Stump and Rusty Cooley.
Don't take just my word for it, go out and purchase yourself Thee Indomitable Spirit which I think is a new metal classic in the making. In a final word, both SCREAMKING and The Indomitable Spirit are Epic.
