OF MICE & MEN
Earth & Sky

Rise Records

Straight from Orange County, California, the ‘metalcore’ American band OF MICE & MEN released their most anticipated album Earth & Sky and let me tell you, it's exactly what I was hoping it to be.

Fans went wild when they released singles "Mushroom Cloud", "Taste of Revenge", and "Earth & Sky". Undeniably, Earth & Sky has been the subject of an intriguing and anticipated album this year. The singles they released had created a widespread perception that this album would in fact most likely be their heaviest. After listening to this whole album, I can definitely tell you that when it comes to a band like OF MICE & MEN you never know what to expect, but it proved to be their best move yet. With past twists and turns of member changes and new sound directions I strongly feel with Earth & Sky, they have finally settled, relaxed, and found who they truly are as a band.

With that being said, it brings back all of the heaviness that the band may have been lacking on past albums. With Pauley continuing with taking over the full arrangement of singing, it’s pretty clear that he is very suited to fronting the band, with well fulfilled and composed tough vocals and powerful clean singing. In this album, the band as a whole delivers extremely penetrating songs, all with depth and range from forceful riffs and immense choruses which will definitely leave you singing along and headbanging for days. I am extremely pleased with this album and it makes me even more excited for what they will continue to bring us OM&M fans in the future.
