LORDI Recordead Live - Sextourcism In Z7 By Krystiee Lee, Editor Tuesday, July 2, 2019 @ 10:31 AM
The DVD, lasting a total of 2 hours, brings to you the raw and up close live cut of the show plus loads of extra bonus material. “We just cut a little bit of my stupid announcements on stage” said Mr. Lordi about the remarkable extent. “Apart from that, everything that happened this evening ended up on this DVD”.
Even though there are some live records of LORDI, Sextourcism in Z7 is the very first official live DVD of the band which was a plan that they have been pursuing for many years. Mr. Lordi stated: “I am very happy that we waited until the Sextourcism tour, because we look amazing, the stage looks amazing and everything was perfect to create a stunning DVD.“
Watching and listening from an artistic point of view and knowing how much Mr. Lordi loves the over-the-top shock and horror, I can definitely say that he is out on a mission to top anything he’s previously written and performed before. The whole performance was theatrical, I mean come on, at one point a priest tried to exorcise Mr. Lordi, a fully naked woman was dancing on the stage before being dragged off to the back, another woman being cut open while lying on a table, it was awesomely wicked just as I expected. Mr. Lordi was on fire the whole presentation, continuously interacting with the fans and singing all the classics better than I imagined. Mana and Hella both had amazing performances with their dominant rhythms and keys radiating charm and electricity during the entire show. And while Ox slammed his strings in an entertaining disco-rock-bass solo, Mr. Lordi’s right-hand man of the band Amen was even more electrifying. In that sense, the band has done a wonderful job with this live Sextourcism DVD.
Each song from the set is played in a grisly and shocking sense that was exactly what Mr. Lordi was wanting to accomplish. The instrumental music was creative, crammed with overwhelming riffs, full with loads of keyboard rhythms, limitless guitar solos and beats that give the whole DVD that much more energy and momentum. It’s absolutely worth giving a watch.
The DVD’s bonus material is stunning as well: Alongside a tour diary with LORDI, the DVD provides all of the official video clips the band ever made, among them a real rarity, the very first official music video for "Inferno".
