Prong's Scorpio Rising Album Release Party In Hollywood By Sefany Jones, Contributing Editor Tuesday, March 9, 2004 @ 1:42 PM
The Dragonfly is on the opposite side of town from the Sunset Strip, which hosts the staple rock clubs. This one is pretty cool – you can stand around three sides of the stage and have a great view. Not to mention our very own Crazy Craig hosts Wednesday nights there with his club, The Panic Room – be sure to check it out sometime.
On this night, Prong played as a four-piece: Tommy Victor on vocals and guitar, Monte Pittman on rhythm guitar, Dan Laudo on drums, and Mike Longworth joined them on bass. As Prong belted out their new tunes, we also enjoyed killer tracks from their previous albums: 1990’s Beg To Differ, 1991’s Prove You Wrong, 1994’s Cleansing and 1996’s Rude Awakening. Among the crowd was Wayne Static and Tony Campos of Static-X, Dino Cazares (ex-Fear Factory), Taime Downe of Faster Pussycat, Glen Sobel (ex-Beautiful Creatures) and more.
I’m not sure at this time what their tour plans are just now, but if they do come around your way, it’s a definite must-see gig! Also, be sure to pick up a copy of Scorpio Rising, available through Locomotive Music.
Here is the set list from the evening:
