Violent Revolution * Reconquering The Throne Extreme Aggression People Of The Lie * All Of The Same Blood Phobia * Pleasure To Kill * Renewal * (such nasty rhythm guitar work!) Servant In Heaven - King In Hell * Black Sunrise Terrible Certainty Riot Of Violence * (Fiery hot solo) Disc 2: Lost * Coma Of Souls * Second Awakening Terrorzone * (Damn!) Betrayer Leave This World Behind * Under The Guillotine Awakening The Gods * (1986, and it still sounds awesome) Golden Age Flag Of Hate * (A German rant, and then in English, “Hey Fuck Off!” Then more German) Tormentor * (Nice rendition, plus the crowd does the chorus for the band. The disc ends with more “KRE-A-TOR!” chants.) * Top picks Now that I’ve done my “job” with the intro and pasted the track listing, let’s get into the down and dirty. Disc one has a slightly different sound than disc two. Disc one sounds rawer, Mille’s voice is harsher (it can get harsher) and sometimes comes in at a lower volume, depending on the song. It’s pretty cool to hear the crowd shouting: “Kre-A-Tor!” whistles, screams, and the “hey-hey-hey” chants. You can even make out some of the various accents with some of the chants. But the band does dominate the crowd--as it should be. The crowd sound and interaction on Disc 1 adds nicely to the rawer sound. I suspect little was done to it production-wise, but overall it has excellent sound quality. Disc two is utter and complete perfection as far as sound goes. It’s very clear, and according to the stage comments from Mille, it was at least partially recorded in Greece. “Greece is one of the number one Metal Countries in the fucking world!” Mille announces nearly every song. Every performance from each band member is superb. Guitar work is flawless, drumming is duplicated perfectly (even on “Violent Revolution”, one of my top favorite drum tracks ever), Mille never misses a line. The quality of these performances is first-class. The choice of songs was careful. Each performance of every song was selected specifically for Kreator’s first live recording. This is an outstanding collection of songs. Specially chosen performances, 110+ minutes, mixed by a masterful hand (Andy Sneap), performed with pure passion, undiluted aggression, and obvious love of the live setting. Kreator has simply out done themselves with this collection. * * * * ˝
