Hands down, Hot Streak, the 2nd Album release by the stellar power trio THE WINERY DOGS is the best albumI've heard in a long time. Considering the fact that their self-titled album, which was released in July 2013, hit Billboard charts #3 on Top Alternative Albums and hit #5 on Top Rock Albums along with a sold out tour is a tremendous achievement to live up to, and they have nailed it.

Hot Streak was recorded at Serenity Recording Studios near Sunset Blvd. One can be led to believe that the vibe of the iconic location and the band's three mastermind musical geniuses collaborating and meshing so well resulted in a superb album. Mike Portnoy, Billy Sheehan and Richie Kotzen alladded their own ideas to this album which comes out in the music. Fantastic guitar solos, amazing drum solos and undeniable vocals by Richie give this album a definate rock, blues, jazzy funk vibe and constant energy with all 13 tracks. "Hot Streak", the title track, is a mix of funk and rock and you can't help but to move to this song. Another side to this album, for example, is the song "Fire", a hauntingly seductive ballad of sorts.

If you caught the last tour with their self-titled album and thought that was outstanding, just get ready! THE WINERY DOGS only get better and surpass expectations. These guys are a well-oiled machine working together, the perfect trio. Billboard charts, here they come again. Watch for a double-sided vinyl version due out in November. The Double Down Tour 2015-2016 kicks off October 3rd in Ridgefield, CT. Buy this album, it will be one you play continuously. Look up tour dates to see if they are playing in a city near you and get your tickets. This tour will be a sellout like the last one.
