THE SKULL Live In Ohio With Photos! By David Kemp, Midwest Contributor Friday, September 20, 2013 @ 4:34 PM
The pioneers of Doom Metal, the band TROUBLE (BLACK SABBATH being the founders of Heavy Metal) have had many lineup changes since their inception in 1979 but one thing remained; The band's loyal fans. I spoke with fans that traveled over four hours away as this was going to be something special. The super group THE SKULL has formed to play TROUBLE songs but this is no ordinary tribute band. They have more long time members then the current line up of TROUBLE and they came to Cleveland to rock. The event was Maximum Threshold Radio's 7th Anniversary celebration to bring a special night of metal to Cleveland and they did deliver.
THE SKULL is comprised of former TROUBLE members Eric Wagner, Jeff “Oly“ Olsen and Ron Holzner. They were joined by Mykull Carpenter and Lothar Keller. However, during a special encore they brought out former TROUBLE member Chuck Robinson to amaze and satisfy a hungry crowd. The band started the night playing all the hits, including “The Temptor", "Wickedness of Man", "Plastic Green Head", "The Eye", "Pray For The Dead", "Psalm 9", "The Assassin", "Last Judgment", "Another Day", "Bastards Will Pay", "Hello Strawberry Skies“ and the finale being “At The End Of My Daze“ and a special version of “Come Together“ by THE BEATLES for radio personality Michael Strong's birthday present. The opening bands did a great job as well and they included EARTHEN GRAVE, THE GLUTTONS, MOURNINGWAGON and DEAD EAST GARDEN.
