PURE ROCK Invasion in Sin City

Another trip to Vegas for the "KISS Night II" @ Vamp'd included a stay over for the 4th annual Vegas Rocks! Magazine Awards hosted by Publisher Sally Steele and her co-host James Kottak of the Scorpions.

The event was held atThe Joint inside the Hard Rock Hotel and the festivities began with the "Sin City Sinners" starting things off as the house band playing all the intro/outro selections. Then later a Vegas Rocks!Magazine montage on the screens with past VRM performances and interviews. Geoff Tate's Queensryche was the first musical featured performance of the night. (Jet City Woman, Cold and closing the night with Empire)

Slaughter were to appear but a note read by Sally from Mark Slaughter stated that his mother had taken ill and prevented him and the band from being in attendance.

Jeff Young/Chris Holmes for "best metal band" included a "homage" to a scene from "Decline Of Western Civilization:The Metal Years"

The night ended with an All-Star Finale with almost everyone participating on Led Zeppelin's "Rock N Roll"

All in all had a good time at the Awards being my first time there.
