Today the band unleashes the second teaser for their upcoming album A Valediction, which is set to be released on November 19th. This time, it´s the catchy title track that manifests OBSCURA's melodic pace, that they stand for over a decade.
Mastermind Steffen Kummerer comments on the track as follows: "The title track combines past and future to the present. With a combination of virtuosity, catchiness, and clear arrangements, “A Valediction” unfolds a bittersweet, fragile temper and sums up the lyrical framework of the entire album. A worthy title track and characterful summit of upcoming concerts."
The video was shot, once again, with talented Mirko Witzki and brings back the vibes of late 90s MTV.

OBSCURA wrote, recorded, and finalized A Valediction during the pandemic. The stipulations of working during this time allowed OBSCURA to work cross-country, tracking each respective part—drums, guitar, and bass—in national studios across The Netherlands, Austria, and Germany. Once the pieces were completed, the recordings were shipped off to award-winning producer Fredrik Nordström and Studio Fredman (IN FLAMES, ARCHITECTS) in Gothenburg, Sweden, where Kummerer and Münzner completed vocals and acoustic guitars using custom-built ENGL amps. Nordström was also tapped to mix and master. The final result is a deeper, heavier, yet more rounded production.
The band will head out for their European tour right after the release and tickets are on sale now.
