EDDIE VAN HALEN Passes Away At 65 By Larry Petro, News Monkey Tuesday, October 6, 2020 @ 12:46 AM
As if the year 2020 could NOT get any worse, TMZ is now reporting that VAN HALEN guitarist Eddie Van Halen has died following an extended battle with throat cancer. According to the site, Eddie passed away yesterday at St. Johns hospital in Santa Monica with his wife, brother and son by his side.
It is known that Eddie had been battling cancer for the better part of a decade including noted reports that he had been flying back and forth to Germany for treatment.
Eddie's son, Wolfgang, posted the following on Twitter:
“I can't believe I'm having to write this, but my father, Edward Lodewijk Van Halener, has lost his long and arduous battle with cancer this morning.
He was the best father I could ask for. Every moment I've shared with him on and off stage was a gift.
My heart is broken and I don't think I'll ever fully recover from this loss.
I love you so much, Pop."
