Though no official word statement has been made, it appears that Michael Schenker has cancelled his U.S. tour. This news comes from Schenker’s vocalist for the tour, Chris Logan, who posted the following message on his website on December 10th:
“I must begin with a sincere apology to everyone who planned to attend one or more of the MSG tour dates in California and Nevada. Unfortunately, the tour is kaput. I am back at home, as are most of the other band members. At this time, any future plans and dates for MSG are on hold."
Schenker reportedly didn’t show up to the last couple of dates on the tour and hasn't shown up to the last few nights of his tour. One fan told KNAC.COM that at a Palo Alto concert at The Icon on Dec. 6, the temperamental axeman “left the stage after 60 seconds” and never came back.
Schenker has a reputation for being a hothead and hard drinker and recently caught some heat for canceling a Japanese tour at the last minute. Last year a UFO reunion tour of Europe was aborted when Schenker and frontman Phil Mogg came to blows on stage and got into a backstage scuffle with Quireboys singer Spike as well. Schenker also flaked out n a KNAC.COM in person interview with the Junkman earlier this month…and that one really hurt….
Schenker's latest album, MSG’s Be Aware of Scorpions, is out now.
