Vapor Trails ARRIVES EVERYWHERE MAY 14TH; "ONE LITTLE VICTORY" ASCENDS ROCK RADIO CHARTS Anthem/Atlantic recording group Rush has announced a number of new dates for their upcoming tour of North America. The September leg of the highly anticipated trek kicks off September 14th at the Gorge in George, Washington, and continues through a September 28th concert at Irvine, California's Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre (see attached itinerary). The tour, which hits the road on June 28th in Hartford, Connecticut, marks Rush's first live performances since July 1997. Rush's eagerly awaited return to the road follows the May 14th release of Vapor Trails, the trio's first all-new studio collection in over five years. "One Little Victory," the propulsive first single from Vapor Trails, has been enthusiastically embraced by radio outlets across the country, coming in as the #1 most-added track at all three rock formats. The song is currently bulleting up the airplay charts at mainstream, heritage, and active rock outlets nationwide. Vapor Trails has already drawn early critical praise, including a three-and-a-half-starred rave in the June issue of Guitar World. "This is no half-assed comeback," declares writer Mac Randall, "Rush are rocking as hard as they ever have... Parts of this album are so heavy you'd swear the guys were taking their cues from a band like Tool - until you realize that Tool probably developed their sound in part from listening to Rush records. Fact is, when you're looking for hard rock with brains, you still can't do better than Rush." Produced by Rush with engineer Paul Northfield (Marilyn Manson, Hole), Vapor Trails sees the legendary power trio - Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson, and Neil Peart - redefining their intensely individualistic music, blending their famously complex dynamics with driving melodic hooks and a passionate, personal lyrical approach. Tracks like the kinetic "How It Is," the emotive "Sweet Miracle," and the propulsive first single, "One Little Victory," are angular, atmospheric and altogether extraordinary.
