Hollywood Undead and Atreyu Take Over The Hollywood Palladium Box Office By Newsferatu, Writer Wednesday, September 9, 2009 @ 5:31 PM
Hollywood Undead and Atreyu will take time out from their intensive tour preparations to visit The Hollywood Palladium box office this Friday, September 11th from 6-8 PM to personally sell tickets to their fans for their upcoming show at The Wiltern on Saturday, November 21st. There will be a four ticket limit per customer and tickets will be free of service fees. Tickets can also be purchased online at www.livenation.com beginning at 6 PM on Friday, September 11.
LA-bred Hollywood Undead will bring its explosive cocktail of hip hop, rock and metal to The Wiltern on Saturday, November 21st, with very special guest Atreyu. This tour is in support of their album Swan Songs, which sold 21,000 copies within the first week and is certified gold.
After building a huge internet buzz with the track “The Kids”, Hollywood Undead signed to A&M/Octone in 2008 and due to their diligence, was able to release their debut album Swan Songs later that same year. Hollywood Undead has gained a tremendous following generating 126 million Myspace hits. Their worldwide fans have gained a fondness for their celebratory, “catchy-phrasy” party songs mixed with their combination of hard rock, metal and hip hop. Closely linked to artists such as Slipknot, Eminem and Black Sabbath, this group of six guys have prevented the public from being able to encase them in any one genre. Their playful lyrical content, crude stories from their hometown of Hollywood, Ca and their testosterone filled party music have won over a following both young and old.
“Donning masks in public, Hollywood Undead possess a dark aesthetic that's connected to their hometown's depravity.” For their debut album, they recorded over 15 songs with production from Danny Lohner (Nine Inch Nails) and Don Gilmore (Linkin Park). Swan Song was released in 2008 hitting #22 on both The Billboard 200 and the Top Internet Albums chart. The single “Young” hit #28 on Billboard’s Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart while “Undead” reached #10 on the Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart and #12 on Hot Modern Tracks. On June 23, 2009, Hollywood Undead released Swan Songs B-Sides EP through iTunes.
Joining the bill is the Orange County hard rock-metal outfit Atreyu whose 2004 release The Curse reached #1 on Billboard’s Top Independent Albums Chart and sold over 300,000 copies nationwide. Their 2006 release, A Death Grip on Yesterday, hit #9 on the Billboard 200 and went to #1 on the Top Independent Albums chart. They jumped to Hollywood Records in 2007 and their album Lead Sails Paper Anchor debuted at # 8 on the Billboard 200 with first-week sales of 43,000 copies. With loyal fans who describe Atreyu’s music as harsh and lively, they have been able to sell over 1 million albums worldwide. Atreyu’s new album Congregation Of The Damned is due out October 27th.
