Marilyn Manson is considering a countersuit to wrongful death suit filed against him last week.
The mother of Manson’s friend, Jennifer Syme, was killed in an automobile accident as she was attempting to return to Manson’s home, after what Manson calls a “quiet get-together.” The mother, Maria St. John, claims that it was Manson’s fault, accusing him of supplying her with cocaine and encouraging her to drive under the influence.
Manson calls the accusations “completely false” and is now considering filing a countersuit for slander, harassment, and abuse of the legal process. He says the mother’s lawsuit is “completely without merit, [and] will not bring back Jennifer’s life… It serves only to reopen the wounds and the pain felt by all who loved Jennifer. It is a pity that St. John sullies her own daughter's reputation by filing this baseless claim."
St. John argues, "What I have to say about this is basically that I will be my daughter's voice. I will be my daughter's advocate. I will be my daughter's sunshine as she was to me. I will be my voice, my advocate, because my daughter did not die in vain. And I hope that what happened to Jennifer doesn't happen to anyone else."
