This evening's (Friday) sold-out Nightwish performance at the Paviljonik Arena, in the city of Jyväskylä, Finland was delayed due to fire erupting on the venue's ceiling. Although 6,000 fans were evacuated, neither band nor fans sustained any injuries. Eventually, the show went off without a hitch, although in the confusion, some outside were (mistakenly) told the show was cancelled and to return home, thus missing the show. The cause of the blaze is under investigation, although early reports target on-going construction or a possible tarp over the beer cart.
Roadrunner Records will reissue Death's 1995 album Symbolic in March 2008. The remastered edition of Symbolic will feature all tracks from the original release, plus the band's cover of Kiss''God Of Thunder', as well as unreleased instrumental demos recorde in '94 with Chuck Schuldiner (guitar), Gene Hoglan (drums) and Steve DiGiorgio (bass). This reissue will feature brand new liner notes from famous metal journalist Don Kaye. Further details as they surface.
Led Zeppelin fans have noticed by now that video clips from the band's December 10th reunion show in London, England on YouTube are slowly but surely disappearing. According to sources, the band's management "has requested the removal of any clips of the event" even though the Warner Music Group has a licensing agreement with YouTube that would technically allow fans to upload material because Led Zeppelin own the rights to the footage.
The Guitar Players Ball in association with this year's NAMM convention, is scheduled for January 17th in Santa, Ana, CA at the Galaxy Theater (3503 South Harbor Blvd) and will feature George Lynch (ex-Dokken), Dave Meniketti (Y&T), Warren DeMartini (RATT), Gilby Clarke (ex-Guns N' Roses), andTracii Guns (L.A. Guns).

Testament are currently hard at work on their new album which is not just their first studio album in nine years, but the first in over a decade with the original line up of Chuck Billy on vocals, Alex Skolnick and Eric Peterson on guitars, and Greg Christian on bass, plus the band re-recruited Paul Bostaph (ex-Slayer, Exodus) for drumming duties. Testament are recording the album right now at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley, California with producer Andy Sneap (Megadeth, Nevermore, Kreator) at the helm. The album - titled The Formation of Damnation - will street April 29th, 2008 on Nuclear Blast.
Massachusetts' All That Remains has announced a headlining run later this winter with support from Chimaira, Five Finger Death Punch, Light This City and Divine Heresy. Starting at the end of January and rolling into March. The tour is in support of the band's latest release, The Fall Of Ideals.
Y&T have issued the following update: "Early next year we'll be releasing a special 2-CD set of the Y&T '90s CDs: Musically Incorrect and Endangered Species. Stay tuned for more info. Also, we're still trying to obtain the rights to re-release the first two Yesterday and Today albums, but Universal is currently in the midst of an internal ownership battle over these two albums; until they resolve it, our hands are tied."
