Concert to Benefit The Station Family Fund By Newsferatu, Writer Thursday, November 29, 2007 @ 11:17 PM
On February 20, 2003 marked the 4th largest nightclub fire in U.S. history, which claimed 100 lives, seriously injured 200 others, and left 65 children without one or both parents. Five years later funds available for the survivors are woefully inadequate. Only 15 survivors of the fire qualified for Social Security benefits, and many are still unable to meet their monthly needs. On February 25, 2005 the Station Family Fund and Wake Up To Love Foundation hosted a relief concert with Tesla, Shine Down and Pat Travers with Carmine Appice to benefit the survivors of the Station Nightclub Fire. This event was held at the Providence Performing Arts Center in Warwick, Rhode Island raising $100,000.00. Considering the number of people in need and the lack of help that they have received this money only lasts 5-6 months. It' is fast approaching February 20, 2008 marking the 5th anniversary of that horrible tragedy. The Station Family Fund and Wake Up To Love Foundation are working close together again putting on another benefit concert. This concert will be held at the Dunkin Donut Center in Providence Rhode Island, Monday February 25, 2008. All proceeds from ticket sales and charity auctions benefit the Station Family Fund, a non-profit 501 (c)(3) charitable organization founded by survivors of the Station Nightclub fire. They are committed to providing survivor relief, including costs of ongoing treatment and rehabilitation Please help us, and thank you for your time. Confirmed Talent:
