Daath Kick Off North American Tour By Newsferatu, Writer Tuesday, October 9, 2007 @ 7:09 AM
Atlanta, Georgia-based metallers Daath are returning to the US for a full-on aural assault.
After spending a few days bringing a dose of Daathliness to Japan, the band is set to hit the road with death metal natives Dark Funeral and Naglafar. Dates will span over a month, with the gargantuan metal tour kicking off on October 10th in Springfield, Virginia and wrapping up on November 4th in Covington, Kentucky. This solid lineup will mark the band’s return to the US after a run on this summer.
Daath has also created a series of short videos available via their YouTube page and Roadrunner site entitled Daathumentary. Each of the video episodes is designed to take fans behind the scenes and expose the core of Daath’s drive and passion.
The first and second episode of Daathumentary can be viewed here.
Spawned from an esoteric heart, Daath’s compositions and credo coincide with a stream of concepts linked to the Hebrew Tree of Life/Death. In the Tree of Life/Death, there are thirteen points and each one of the songs on their Roadrunner Records debut, The Hinderers, is representative of each of these points.
Produced by James Murphy (TESTAMENT, OBITUARY), the album has been received with high critical acclaim. The band has begun working on concepts for their next release, encompassing ideas plucked from the spiritual vein. Pursuing higher planes, Daath is metal with a conscience, sparking extreme thought within the metal community.
