Susperia Drummer In Freak Accident By Newsferatu, Writer Tuesday, April 3, 2007 @ 3:44 PM
Norwegian rockers Susperia have suffered a major setback in the run up to their forthcoming European tour with W.A.S.P. later this month and the subsequent UK dates with Onslaught. The bands drummer Tjodalv has broken his ankle In a freak accident and will have to sit out the dates.
The incident happened when he slipped on a patch of ice whilst unloading his vehicle. He was immediately rushed to a local hospital where he was diagnosed with an ankle break in two places, which required an emergency operation. Shattered and dejected, Tjoldav is now at home recuperating, with strict orders to rest for at least five months until the breaks heal. The band are devestated at what has happened.
Susperia have however, confirmed that they will fulfil all their upcoming live commitments and have drafted in Anders Haave from Blood Red Throne as a temporary replacement for the dates.
Susperia's fourth studio album Cut From Stone was released on 2nd April 2007 in Norway and due on 9th April in the rest of Europe via the TABU label (a Division of TUBA Records, Norway). It was recorded at Strand Studio, Oslo, Norway during 2006. The mix was completed by Daniel Bergstrand (In Flames, Meshuggah, Soilwork) at Dug Out Studios in Uppsala, Sweden. Production was handled by SUSPERIA and Marius Strand.
