Our friend Barry Lyons at Rent-a-Label informs KNAC.COM, the first single from the upcoming Black Sabbath release (April 3 on Rhino Records), Black Sabbath: The Dio Years is a track called The Devil Cried. It's one of three new tracks recorded last fall.
Motley Crue frontman Vince Neil is working on the pilot for a new A&E reality TV show. According to Vince, the program will follow the singer and his family after his parents have moved in with him. "My wife (Lia) hasn't talked to my Mom since the wedding," which took place January 9th, 2005 in Las Vegas, NV.
On the live front, Neil has confirmed rumors that Mötley Crüe will head back to Europe in June for some festival appearances, which will likely include a stop at the Download festival in England. According to Neil, the band has written more than a hundred songs for a proposed new studio album, which is expected to be released sometime in 2008.
Bullet For My Valentine are currently in the studio with producer Colin Richardson (Fear Factory, Machine Head) working on their new studio album. They have issued the following update: "So, the drums are now FINISHED and sounding amazing!
Padge is currently in the studio getting guitar tones for the album with Colin. Matt is away in LA in meetings for a couple days, when he gets back he will be recording all his rhythm guitar tracks.
According to Blind Guardian's German promo company Wolfgang Rott/CMM, eight of the band's albums will be re-released in June to celebrate Blind Guardian's 20th Anniversary. The albums due to be re-issued are Battalions Of Fear, Follow The Blind, Tales From The Twilight World, Somewhere Far Beyond, Tokyo Tales, Imaginations From The Other Side, The Forgotten Tales and Nightfall In Middle-Earth. They will be digitally remastered and feature new liner notes and pictures.
Massachusetts' All That Remains, now out on its first ever North American headlining tour in support of their latest album, the Fall Of Ideals, has announced that the band will film its Feb. 25 performance at Philadelphia's Theatre of the Living Arts for inclusion on the band's forthcoming DVD release. Tentatively scheduled for release later this year, All That Remains has been compiling footage for inclusion since the band's 2004 release, 'This Darkened Heart.'
Guitar legends Alex Lifeson (Rush) and Robert Fripp (King Crimson) are guesting on new Porcupine Tree album Fear Of A Blank Planet, due out through Atlantic Records in North America on April 24th and the 23rd in Europe via Roadrunner. Lifeson appears on the track 'Anesthetize', while Fripp solos on 'Way Out There'. The album will be available in stereo and 5.1 versions in both a 2-disc limited special edition, as well as a DVD-Audio release. The complete tracklisting is as follows: Fear of a Blank Planet' (7.28), 'My Ashes' (5.07), 'Anesthetize' (17.42), 'Sentimental' (5.26), 'Way Out of Here' (7.37), 'Sleep Together' (7.28).
