SEATTLE – Obituary and Sadus will headline the 3rd Annual Northwest Deathfest, which will be held on May 28 at The Fenix Underground in Seattle. Tickets go on sale Friday, February 17.
Deeds Of Flesh and Severed Savior will headline the second stage. More bands from the Pacific Northwest will be announced as they are confirmed.
Obituary recently returned from a month-long European tour in support of their latest album "Frozen In Time." Their Northwest Deathfest appearance is one of only two US shows that the band currently has scheduled.
Bay area thrashers Sadus will return for their second appearance at the festival. The band will release their new album, "Out For Blood," on February 27 through Holland's Mascot Records. This will be Sadus' first studio recording since 1997.
Howitzer Productions began in 2002 and has promoted over 100 shows, as well as five festivals in the Washington area.
Sponsors for the festival include Pit Magazine, who will be on hand with magazines and merchandise. Unique Leader Records will sponsor the second stage.
The door prizes this year include an XBox 360 with games, autographed guitars, donated by Emerald City Guitars, and a DVD player with metal DVDs. There will also be free giveaways all day long. Vendors will be on hand selling collectible and current metal merchandise. The first 50 people through the door will receive an autographed poster and the first 500 people through the door will receive a free CD, which includes one track each from all of the bands appearing.
The Fenix Underground is located at 109 S. Washington St. in Seattle, Wash. (206-405-4313). This is an all ages event, 21 and over with ID for access to the bar. Doors open at 10 a.m. and the show will begin at 11 a.m. Ticket prices are $25.00 in advance and $30.00 day of show, and are available through www.northwestdeathfest.com, the Fenix Underground box office, Silver Platters, and Ticketmaster
