Iron Maiden lead singer Bruce Dickinson joins McFarlane Toys and spawn.com founder Todd McFarlane to unveil McFarlane's latest rock action figures of Eddie, the faithful mascot of the British heavy metal band since their 1980 debut.
Two versions of Eddie will be on display. The first figure, in stores now, is based on artwork from the seminal 1981 Killers album. The second figure is based on artwork that accompanied the single "The Trooper", from the 1983 Piece of Mind album. The Trooper figure will hit store shelves in fall 2002, and will be publicly unveiled for the first time at toy fair.
Tuesday, February 12th at noon
McFarlane Toys New York Showroom
1115 Broadway, Suite 402 (at 25th Street)
Interviews and photo opportunities with Dickinson and McFarlane will be available.
Iron Maiden's 15-album catalog will be re-released this year, marking the 20th anniversary of the breakthrough album The Number of the Beast. Additionally the Rock In Rio DVD and a live album of the same name will be released in 2002. 'Rock In Rio' was recorded on Jan.19, 2001 in front of 250,000 fans. The album will be released March 26th.
