Artist/producer Chris Vrenna (a.k.a. tweaker) has been picked to contribute additional production and remix the song "Set It Off" for Christian metalheads P.O.D. as well as a new track for alternative hard rockers Live.
Vrenna will be remixing "Set It Off," taken from their current chart-topping CD Satellite, for the forthcoming movie soundtrack for The Scorpion King staring The Rock. "I basically took the original song and made it much heavier. I added some electronic elements and took it far, but no too far,” said Vrenna of the remix. “I love doing remixes for movies, so this was a great opportunity to try something different."
Of the Live track, "Like a Soldier," Chris says, "I've always been a big fan of the band, being from the same home state of Pennsylvania. It was an honor to be able to work with them."
In addition to producing the recent Cold 13 Ways to Bleed Onstage CD, Vrenna has also done tweaker remixes for U2, Nelly Furtado, Xzibit, and Weezer.
Vrenna's debut tweaker project, The Attraction to All Things Uncertain, came out on Six Degrees Records this fall. The CD features guest vocals from some of Vrenna's heroes; the legendary David Sylvian, Will Oldham and Shudder To Think's Craig Wedren.
