New York, NY – Scum of the Earth, the monstrous new breakout
band from ex-Rob Zombie guitarist Riggs, announced today they will embark on
a nationwide tour supporting their Eclipse Records debut,
Blah…Blah…Blah…Love Songs for the New Millennium. The tour will commence October 26, the very
day the albums drops, canvas most of the U.S. and venture into Canada. Riggs
recorded Blah… with an all-star cast of friends including Zombie drummer John
Tempesta (White Zombie, Rob Zombie) and his brother Mike Tempesta (guitar,
Powerman 5000)—marking the first time the brothers have played together on record,
SOAD drummer John Dolmayan, as well as Clay Others (bass) and more. On tour,
Riggs will be flanked by Adema guitarist Ransom, PM5K drummer Adrian Ost and
Others.
“We’re trotting out the scummier side of the Scum family,” says Riggs.
“Lock up your daughters and small animals.” Riggs’ caveat is both cheeky and
certifiable; Scum of the Earth’s live show is serial-killer tense and ferociously
executed. Riggs and his mates are seasoned rock vets that will scratch your
rock itch raw. Expect to gorge on visual and sonic delights.
The much-anticipated Blah…is a bloodsucking feast of Riggs’ trademark slaug
hterhouse guitars, go-go beats and drive-in movie aesthetics, produced by
Michael Beinhorn (Korn, Red Hot Chili Peppers) and Irv Gotti. It will be the first
CD to feature UMixIt™ interactive technology, an enhanced feature that allows
listeners—should they desire a little more grind in tracks like “Pornstar
Champion”—to play producer/Dr. Frankenstein and isolate, violate and remix on
their computer, up to 16 audio tracks by emphasizing, cutting back or removing
any instrument or vocal.
In addition, Scum of the Earth has lensed a video for the single “Get Your
Dead On” with director Rob Prior (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), based on his
upcoming film Shadow Walker, currently in pre-production. The unique horror film’s
main character will be the basis for the clip which, in an unprecedented move,
will introduce the mythology of the Shadow Walker villain before its
appearance in a film, comic book, or video game (each is scheduled for release next
year). Prior conceived the Shadow Walker, a violent creature from New Zealand
folklore that moves only within darkness, with groundbreaking comic book writer
Paul Jenkins ("Origin: The True Story of Wolverine," "Spider-Man: Return of the
Goblin," "The Incredible Hulk," "Darkness: Resurrection"). Prior, a renowned
master of photorealistic comic book art (he crafted the creatures for the
Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel), designed the Shadowalker.
Jenkins and Prior decided that music video would be the ideal medium to
introduce what they hope will be the breakout monster franchise of 2005. Scum of
the Earth, a breakout monster band, is a natural partner.
Tour dates are as follows:
10/26/04 Los Angeles, CA Whisky
