Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine has teamed up with Diamond Head’s Brian Tatler for an upcoming side-project collaboration effort. According to an official statement from Tatler, the duo has been writing material and will enter the studio early next year to record a full-length album, with a rumored release through Sanctuary/Metal-Is Records in late 2002.
Meanwhile, Diamond Head has finished tracking a new acoustic EP that features new versions of four classic songs: “Run,” “Heat Of The Night,” “Lightning To The Nations,” and “Ishmael.” The effort will only be available through mail order via the band’s official website sometime early next year. The four original members of the band have been rehearsing and writing together for the first time since 1983. Tatler recently described the reunion as “both constructive and great fun.” Despite the gathering for the acoustic EP, the band has denied a full-scale reunion beyond this one-off project.
