It’s because they listen to Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard and Johnny Cash and Cheap Trick and AC/DC and The Clash and they understand that great rock and great country are, at least on a spiritual level, exactly the same thing.”

The Supersuckers have set a March 12th release date for their first live record, Must’ve Been Live. A recording of their rare live country sets, the disc will feature many of the group’s songs from the 1997 album Must’ve Been High as well as many other songs and some great guest appearances from Amy Nelson (daughter of Willie Nelson), Audley Freed of The Black Crowes and Mickey Rafael (Willie Nelson’s band).
Lead vocalist, Eddie Spaghetti says, “Must’ve Been Live is a ramblin’, gamblin’, good-time-drinkin’, roadhouse rumblin’, party-time country hoo-haw recorded in Dallas, Austin and San Diego. Must’ve Been Live is 19 tracks and almost 70 minutes worth of pure bootleg dynamite.”
The album will be released through the band’s own Mid-Fi Recordings (Middle Finger to you, buddy!) on March 12th. The Supersuckers plan to take their seldom seen “country hoo-haw” on the road in March after some SXSW shows.
