Testament couldn't keep up

I can actually remember the precise moment I first heard Overkill. I was at a friend’s house, MTV’s Headbanger’s Ball was on (remember that?!) and this video came on. Instantly caught my attention. “Who is this?”. “Overkill” my friend says. “Not bad”. “Dude, this is the ballad”, my friend grinned. The song was In Union We Stand. Been hooked ever since.
The Dark Roots of Thrash tour stopped by recently (minus Flotsam & Jetsam damnit) and Overkill simply killed. I’m not even sure they stopped to breathe.
Come and Get It, Rotten to the Core and Wrecking Crew came racing out of the amps and landed straight between the eyes. The floor at the Marquee Theater was in a constant wave of motion. Bring Me the Night, Electric Rattlesnake, Infectious, Ironbound, Elimination, and the mighty anthem Fuck You finished out the short set.
The selections seemed to have spawned most of thier career (even for such a short set), and quite frankly the sheer energy from the stage left Testament looking a little dated and dusty.
