As reported by Rolling Stone and confirmed by the VAN HALEN News Desk, VAN HALEN will be playing a special invite-only concert at the Cafe Wha? in Greenwich Village, New York this Thursday.
The 250-seat Cafe Wha? has a family connection to David Lee Roth. His uncle Manny Roth owned and operated the venue, providing a stage to then-up-and-coming acts such as JIMI HENDRIX, BILL COSBY, BOB DYLAN, RICHARD PRYOR and many others.
Interscope/Universal will release the as-yet-untitled new Van Halen album on February 7th in North America. The first single and video from the album will be released on January 10th.
Van Halen will be hitting the road in 2012 and the first tickets will go on sale January 10th. New video of the band - singer David Lee Roth, guitarist Eddie Van Halen, drummer Alex Van Halen and bassist Wolfgang Van Halen - reportedly filming the first single at the Roxy Theatre in West Hollywood, California recently and announcing their world tour can be viewed below.
The new, as yet untitled Van Halen album is the first with vocalist David Lee Roth in more than 25 years, and their first new music as a band in seven years.
