Danish melodic rockers Royal Hunt came down in Italy to make a long awaited live appearance (they had booked the venue for November, but had to delay it till today). The venue (Indian's Saloon in Milan) is quite a small one, but fits well for a band like them.
To help you make an idea, the club hosted live appearances from the Quireboys, Hardcore Superstar and Paul di Anno in the past months.
The show wasn't very packed, (due to 4 days of holiday here, from 4/25 to 4/28), but let me tell you the guys put on a great, great show!
Songs were taken from pre-DC Cooper-era albums (as "Wasted Time," "In and Out" and "Running Wild") and from the two that saw the former singer in the band, Moving Target and Paradox (as "Message to God" and "River of Pain"). But the best ones were the ones taken from Fear and their latest effort, The Mission, with singer John West showing he's one of the best singers in melodic rock now around. Greatest moments of the night: "Days of No Trust" (amazing!), "Turn Me On" and "Cold City Lights."
Just a mention to guitarist Jacob Kjaer and, above all, to keyboard player Andre Anderson, the leader of the group: he sounded great and was very, very smart with the fans. Can't wait to see them again. The Mission is probably their best album, and shows that John West is the right man in the right place. Rock on Royal Hunt!!
