MÖTLEY CRÜE - Nikki Sixx Welcomes Wounded Warriors In D.C. By Tokemaster General, Contributor Thursday, May 5, 2011 @ 1:31 PM
With the recent and emotionally charged historical victory for America, two-time New York Times best-selling author and international rock icon, MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx hosted a moving exchange last night with members from Wounded Warriors based at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C.
“These are true heroes who inspire me with their courage,” said Sixx. “I’m so honored that my music has inspired them as well.” Sixx is featured in the current issue of Vanity Fair, in support Sixx:A.M.’s recently released album, This Is Gonna Hurt (out now via Eleven Seven Music), currently the #1 Independent Rock Album on iTunes, and his New York Times best selling companion book that debuted at #4, This is Gonna Hurt: Photography and Life Through the Distorted Lens of Nikki Sixx (HarperCollins/William Morrow). Sixx’s next stop is this evening, May 5, in Philadelphia, PA at Barnes and Noble (for additional book tour dates see below). Sixx continues to attract record-breaking crowds, selling out books and CDs and averaging four hours of autographing books and CDs at each event. Sixx:A.M. is the rock band formed in 2007 by Nikki Sixx, Dj Ashba and James Michael. Their debut album, The Heroin Diaries Soundtrack, sold over 300,000 copies, and the single, 'Life Is Beautiful', became radio’s most-played rock song of 2008. This is Gonna Hurt, the band’s second album, has already produced a Top 5 radio smash with the first single 'Lies of the Beautiful People.' The unabridged downloadable audio book of This Is Gonna Hurt: Photography And Life Through The Distorted Lens Of Nikki Sixx read by the author is available now at audible.com, iTunes and wherever digital audio books are sold.
