Eddie Van Halen recently spoke to People Magazine about his health, in the wake of the unspecified medical tests that forced Van Halen to postpone 21 shows last month. There are still no public details on exactly what ailed, or ails, the guitarist, but he says, quote, "I feel excellent. I'm healthier than I've ever been. It's wonderful."
Guitarist John 5 (Rob Zombie) releases his new instrumental album, Requiem, on June 3rd via 60 Cycle Hum. John 5 performs all instruments with the exception of the time-keeping by Zombie band-mate Tommy Clufetos (drums). The album was recorded in the middle of night that lent a cool vibe and only time John 5 had studio times. Most of the songs are 12–13 minutes long so John 5 decided to put in markers to divide them up so when songs change from track to track it seems to meld in to each other.
Former Guns N' Roses guitarist Izzy Stradlin is currently working on a new record that is set to feature Velvet Revolver/former GN'R bassist Duff McKagan. "I got to play on Izzy's new record yesterday (April 24th) in Ojai (California)," McKagan told Izzy Sradlin fan-site Chopaway.com. Another stellar outing by that dude I must say. Always a pleasure hanging with that guy, a true gentleman."
