KoRn guitarist James ‘Munky’ Shaffer announces plans to release a new project entitled Fear And TheNervous system due out August 8, 2008. The record will be released on his own label, Emotional Syphon Recordings. The band features James Christian Shaffer (“Munky”) on guitars and vocals; Billy Gould (Faith No More), bass; Wes Borland (Black Light Burns), guitars; Brooks Wackerman (Bad Religion, Tenacious D), drums and percussion; Leopold Ross, programming and guitars; Zach Baird, keyboards and programming. The album will be produced by Shaffer, Ross, and Jim Monti, with additional production by Tim Harkins, Leopold Ross and Danny Lohner (NIN)

Velvet Revolver, STP singer Scott Weiland pleaded innocent on Wednesday (March 5th) to driving under the influence of drugs, a charge stemming from his November arrest on a Los Angeles freeway onramp. The 40-year-old Weiland was not in court but entered his plea to the misdemeanor charge through a defense attorney. Weiland is free on $40,000 bail and was due back in court for a pretrial hearing on April 4. If convicted he faces up to one year in jail because he has a prior conviction for driving under the influence, a spokesman for the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office said.
Aerosmith guitarist, Joe Perrywill undergo knee surgery. As such, he is forced to cancel a solo concert scheduled for Saturday, April 5, at the Seneca Allegany Casino. Additional tour dates will more than likely be cancelled as well.
Kiss bassist/vocalist Gene Simmon's website reports that' KISSology: The Ultimate Collection Vol. 3 1992 - 2000 DVD has been certified 8 X Platinum by the RIAA. Simmons says, "This is the biggest seller in the three volume series. KISSology Vo. 1 is almost 5 X Platinum. KISSology Vol. 2 is 6 X Platinum."

The annual Kansas State Fair is held annually beginning the Friday following Labor Day and lasts for 10 days at the Kansas State Fairgrounds in Hutchinson, Kansas. The largest single event in the State, the Fair annually attracts approximately 350,000 people from all 105 Kansas counties and several other states.
