One of the nice things about Strip Clubs is that you're guaranteed -- no matter where the club is or who's on stage -- at any given time throughout the evening to hear some AC/DC. Sure, it'll probably be the same three songs from club to club, but for a rockhead it sure beats having to watch some girl peel out to Sean Paul or Fergie (I mean, honestly: "Fergalicious?" And they make fun of metal...). Strip clubs are always a great place to hear rock, but really, you've got all those AC/DC and Def Leppard CDs at home; or, these days, on your cell.

Well, there's good news for you! Coming straight outta the land Down Under -- yes, the very same place that gave us AC/DC -- is a band called Airbourne. It's a four-piece, bluesy hard rock group made up of two brothers! Creepy, huh? It gets better... they have excellent, ridiculous song titles which rival another bluesy hard rock group from Down Under! Sure, you can "Sink The Pink" anytime... but Airbourne wants to go "Runnin' Wild" and "Stand Up For Rock 'N' Roll" with "Cheap Wine & Cheaper Women" and "Girls In Black" straight into "Hellfire" which is probably located somewhere near "Fat City"... it might hysterical if they didn't do it so goddamn well.

Is it a tribute, a ripoff or sincere admiration? That's debatable. The bottom line here is that Airbourne kicks ass! The songs are straight-up riff-based three-to-five minute rockers and there's not a single song that could count as filler.

This is the cd that every strip club should be playing for the hottest girls at like, say, 9PM on a Friday night. Only problem is finding a girl who can dance to the faster stuff: it might be dangerous, I don't know. But, if there's any reason to support this band and buy this disc instead of downloading it, it is this: the song "What's Eatin' You?" (I added the question mark for clarity, though the band does not seem to favor it.) This song is awesome! It's a puerile, adolescent song about three-ways. That's it. The drums sound a bit like the Crue's "Too Young To Fall In Love" and then they build a monster riff on that. And it's about a three-way!

These guys are not political, and even though the song comes toward the second half of the disc, it sets the tone for the whole shebang (heh - so to speak). All the songs are about girls, drinking, rock and roll and Hell. That's it! (Maybe on the next record they'll write a song about cars!)

I'm certain some of these songs are on the band's MySpace site, so check 'em out. I've already come up with a three-song set for my favorite stripper (Flikka from Finland): "Runnin' Wild" + "What's Eatin' You" + "Too Much, Too Young, Too Fast."

If you can't get to a strip club, play it in your car/van/SUV while you're on your way to work or coming home from school. Or just blast it on your iPod and forget about everything. These guys are so much fun and a real breath of fresh air... a great party record, a great record to drink to - Hell, a great record to anything to!

Fucking GO AIRBOURNE! * * * * *
