Nevermore frontman Warrel Dane has posted the following update: "Ok so since there's so much speculation about what Sisters Of Mercy song it's going to be I have to let the cat out of the bag, every song on that record is great but 'Lucretia' has always been my favorite, 'Dominion' being a close second. Anyone that knows me knows that I have always loved old school goth, "nu goth" is kind of boring. Matt Wicklund did a great job of making 'Lucretia' METAL." His upcoming solo debut is tentatively due out in early 2008 through Century Media.
The Haunted frontman Peter Dolving has issued the following update: "Little secret no more a secret... Well, hmm - ok. Me and a couple of really good friends, and great musicians have started a band. We call it: O . Think NEUROSIS, QSTA, MASTODON, TODAY IS THE DAY and CLUTCH, etc. My friend AmokCell is doing the background projecttions and films for live shows. We will definetly be looking for a record deal. Just thought I'd let yall know."
Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page has revealed that his band will perform a track they have never played live before at their forthcoming O2 Arena show in London on December 10. Speaking to Reuters, Page gave a vague clue as to the period the song comes from - although he offered a 12-year time zone. "There's one number that we rehearsed, I assume that it will make it to the Dome, that we never played at any point in time," he explained. "It dates from when the band was together between 1968 and 1980. It's a really intense number."
Donald Trump is shaking things up on his reality show The Apprentice. On the Jan. 3 debut of the reality show, 14 celebrities will be stepping in as participants and facing the Donald in the boardroom.
Celebrity participants include Sopranos star Vincent Pastore (he was Sal "Big Pussy" Bonpensiero), Olympic gold medalists Nadia Comeneci and Jennie Finch, Taxi star Marilu Henner, Piers Morgan from America's Got Talent, former Apprentice Omarosa Manigault-Stallworth and Gene Simmons from Kiss. Simmons is hoping his face time with the Donald will leverage some of his other business endeavors. "I'm in the Gene Simmons business," he told the Associated Press his plan. The celebrities will be competing for cash donations to their favorite charities, with the grand prize being a check for $250,000 to the winner's charity.
