ProgPower USA IX organizers have issued the following in regards to next year's festival: "The ProgPower USA IX roster announcement will take place after the All-Star jam on Saturday night to close out the fest. I will announce as many acts as I have confirmed. There is a very good chance that will include all ten of them. I am not sure when the date will be announced as I have to finalize hotels first."
ProgPower USA VIII takes at Atlanta, GA’s Center Stage on October 5th, 6th.

Set to go into production this month, Exodus will be shooting a video for 'Riot Act', off their upcoming new album The Atrocity Exhibition: Exhibit A, slated for release in North America on October 23.
Danzig will be announcing a handful of East Coast US live shows for the week leading into Halloween. According to a band update, "looks like NYC, Philly, Baltimore and possibly Worcester/Boston. West Coast Halloween shows may also be added. Danzig has said he will perform a few songs from the new Lost Tracks double CD at these shows. Fans don't want to miss these shows, as they will be the only ones for a while."
Raven mainman Jon Gallagher announced that the band has four songs "about 95% done and another ten which we have some work yet to do. I go into do vocals on Tuesday." The new album will be called Walk Through Fire, with a tentative spring 2008 release.
Buckcherry is marking a major ringtone milestone this week as their hit, "Crazy Bitch," celebrates a full year in the Nielsen Ringscan Top 30 -- the only track to do so in the chart's history. The ringtone was already a smash in Nielsen Ringscan's first-ever reporting week (ending September 3, 2006), and in the year that followed, has yet to drop out of the Top 30. In its 52nd week on the Ringscan chart, the ringtone is currently ranked at #23. "Crazy Bitch" has been certified as a Platinum Master Ringtone by the RIAA.
