DevilDriver's first week sales for the new album The Last Kind Words topped 14,000 in the US, which helped the record debut at #48 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart. The famed Studio Fredman in Göteborg, Sweden - owned and operated by legendary producer Fredrik Nordström (Dimmu Borgir, Arch Enemy, Dark Tanqillity, In Flames, Hammerfall, Opeth) - has been bought out by the members of In Flames who are currently renovating the space. The band plan to enter the studio in September to commence work on the follow-up to 2006's Come Clarity.
Temple Of Brutality featuring former Megadethcurrent F5 bassist David Ellefson, former W.A.S.P. drummer Stet Howland, guitarist Peter Scheithauer (Belladonna, Killing Machine) and vocalist Todd Barnes (13-A), have issued the following update via their official MySpace page:
"Due to unforseen circumstances Temple Of Brutality will not be able to perform at their previously scheduled shows in August. The band express their sincerest apologies to any fans who may have hoped to see them at any of these upcoming shows. Anyone who may have purchased tickets for those performances should request a refund from the venues or ticket offices where they were purchased."
Scum Of the Earth, featuring former long-time Rob Zombie guitarist Riggs, just recently finished mixing their new album entitled Sleaze Freak on Eclipse Records. The album follows-up the critically-acclaimed debut Blah…Blah…Blah…Love Songs For The New Millennium released in 2004. Riggs recently described the album as: “Heavy-as-hell grinding, stripper-rock. It’s a much more intense collection of material than Blah…Blah…Blah. We did everything we wanted to do this time around, which allowed us to really embody the whole red-light-district sleazy vibe into the material."
Rammstein have announced the North American release date of their Völkerball DVD, set for September 18th, 2007. The DVD features performances from France, England,Japan and Russia. The DVD will be released in three different packages. The Standard 2 disc DVD/CD package will contain 140 min live video and 75 min live audio. The Special Edition package will also include a documentary on the tour and a behind the scenes look at the Making of "Reise, Reise". The Limited Collectors Edition will contain four disks packaged in a 190 page book with photos from the tour.

Soilwork frontman Bjorn "Speed" Strid has checked in with the following update: "Hi, After finishing the mix of the new beast and emptying the bar, it's time to make the first videoshoot for the new album. The first video will be for the song 'Exile'. The video recording will take place in Gothenburg and has a pretty trippy script. 'm sure it's gonna turn out awesome!" Later, Speed.
