The LORDS OF ACID Electrify Houston's Scout Bar - A Night of Sin, Synth, and Sweat

Last night at Houston's legendary Scout Bar, Belgian legends LORDS OF ACID roared back onto the stage with vigor, this time with a powerful new twist - Carla Harvey of BUTCHER BABIES fame joining as lead vocalist, delivering an unrelenting set that left the packed crowd buzzing. With support from three electrifying openers; LITTLE MISS NASTY, local favorites THE HUNGER, and the powerhouse Lucia Cifarelli, the evening built into a wild crescendo of industrial-fueled euphoria.

Lucia Cifarelli Ignites The Stage With Electro-Industrial Firepower

Taking the stage first, Lucia Cifarelli, best known as the dynamic frontwoman of KMFDM and DRILL, brought her solo project to life in a dazzling live performance that blended industrial grit, dark pop melodies, and raw emotional energy. Performing in an intimate club setting, Cifarelli wasted no time plunging audiences into her signature blend of dark electro-pop. Her vocals - versatile, fierce, and full-bodied, soared atop atmospheric synths. Punk-infused tracks like "Girls Like Me" and "To Be Alive" teased the crowd early on, setting a bold tone for what was to come. Her voice, sharp and agile, cut through the noise with clarity, switching effortlessly between seductive whispers and explosive screams. Whether you're a longtime fan of her work with KMFDM or discovering her as a solo artist, Lucia Cifarelli's live performance is a visceral experience that celebrates both sonic rebellion and the power of self-expression. It's industrial rock with a soul and she's not afraid to bleed it on stage.

Setlist:

  • "Girls Like Me"
  • "To Be Alive"
  • "Believe"
  • "Lights Out"
  • "Paper Tiger"
  • "Dark Horse"
  • "No God Here"
THE HUNGER: Local Legends Set the Dark Tone

Next up was Houston's own THE HUNGER, the city's long-running industrial-rock outfit that's been churning out dark, danceable anthems since the early '90s. The band delivered a powerful, polished set filled with classic tracks and fresh fire, instantly locking in the crowd's attention. Jeff and Thomas Wilson, the band's charismatic frontmen, brought their signature theatrical flair to the stage. Their sibling chemistry, forged over decades of collaboration, helped anchor the band's dynamic performance. The group's sound - layered synths, grinding guitar and pulse-pounding rhythms was as tight as ever, showcasing why THE HUNGER remains a local favorite and a staple in the industrial-rock landscape. Songs like "Therapy" and "Vanishing Cream" had longtime fans singing along, while the newer material hinted at a band still evolving without losing their shadowy, synth-laced edge. It was a triumphant showing that reminded everyone that Houston's darkwave roots are still thriving.

Setlist:

  • "Shock"
  • "Rigor Mortis" (A SPLIT-SECOND cover)
  • "Vanishing Cream"
  • "Therapy"
  • "Shotgun Squad"
LITTLE MISS NASTY: Rock 'n' Roll Burlesque with Bite

Next came LITTLE MISS NASTY, the genre-defying performance troupe that's equal parts heavy rock concert, burlesque show and visual riot. With tight choreography, pounding industrial-metal anthems and commanding stage presence, the troupe brought a raw, unrelenting energy that amped the crowd into a frenzy. Their performance was both sultry and aggressive - a perfect fit for the LORDS OF ACID aesthetic and they left the stage having turned Scout Bar into a full-blown dance-and-debauchery den.

LORDS OF ACID: Electro-Industrial Mayhem Reborn

Closing the night with pure sensory overload, LORDS OF ACID unleashed their signature brand of explicit, dance floor-destroying madness, this time supercharged by the addition of Carla Harvey. Known for her powerhouse vocals and stage dominance with BUTCHER BABIES, Carla added a heavier, more aggressive dimension to the band's erotic electronic soundscape. Her vocals created a fierce vocal attack that elevated fan-favorite tracks like "Pussy", "I Sit On Acid" and "Rough Sex" to wild new heights. Backed by Praga Khan's twisted techno wizardry and a band firing on all cylinders, the performance was an unrelenting celebration of lust, rebellion and industrial power.

Musically, the band was razor sharp, mixing throbbing basslines, distorted guitars and acid-tinged synths into a wall of sound that had the floor shaking. Visually, it was a mind-bending mix of eroticism, strobe lights and pure chaos. Carla at one point took a much-deserved break and members of LITTLE MISS NASTY took to the stage to add to the debauchery overload on "Worship The Lords". The moment the LORDS ripped into "Pussy" and "I Sit On Acid" the Scout Bar erupted. Before "Pussy" scantily clad women from the crowd were invited onstage and blow-up sex dolls were bouncing around the audience like beach balls. Pulsing lights and their signature infectious beats kicked into overdrive. Lead vocals, equal parts sultry and sinister, commanded the room with the throbbing synth-groove rattling every spine in the crowded venue. Every profanity-laced lyric landed with a grin-inducing edge; every high-voltage riff demanded movement.

Setlist:

  • "Voodoo-U"
  • "Do What You Wanna Do"
  • "Lover"
  • "Drink My Honey"
  • "Mister Machoman"
  • "The Power Is Mine Coda"
  • "(A Treatise on the Practical Methods Whereby One Can) Worship the Lords"
  • "Rough Sex"
  • "Take Control"
  • "Rubber Doll"
  • "Pussy"
  • "I Sit on Acid"
  • "Scrood Bi U"
  • "The Crablouse"
Encore:
  • "Get Up. Get High"
Impressions:

Energy & Engagement: 10/10. From Lucia's commanding entrance to LORDS' explosive finale, every act fed off the energy in a way that felt intentional and electrifying.

Sound & Production: Authentic industrial firepower, synths, bass, and guitar locked in tight. The mix was dense yet clear, delivering visceral punch without muddiness. It always helps when the facility is owned by one of the members of THE HUNGER and he understands what it takes to have a great sounding venue.

Stagecraft & Visuals: Hyper-charged and unapologetic. Escorting themes ranged from seedy to theatrical, amplified by laser-cut visuals that flirted with the dark and the risqué.

Crowd Factor: A perfect blend of local and die-hard industrial fans, ready to dance, scream and sink into sonic depravity.

Verdict: A sinfully satisfying industrial spectacle - brutally fun, boldly explicit and brilliantly staged. The combination of Lucia Cifarelli, THE HUNGER, LITTLE MISS NASTY and LORDS OF ACID made this a night Houston won't soon forget.

Final Thoughts:

From the lead off vocals of Lucia Cifarelli, the hometown grit and synth-drenched swagger of THE HUNER with the Wilson brothers front and center, to the high-voltage spectacle of LITTLE MISS NASTY and the unleashed chaos of LORDS OF ACID's Carla Harvey era, the June 19th show at Scout Bar was a genre-blurring, boundary-pushing night of industrial rock perfection. The LORDS OF ACID reminded Houston that irreverence and raw sexuality still bleed powerfully when executed with precision and flair. Houston had been ready and the night more than delivered.
