KNAC.COM contributor Deb Rao spoke to Black Label Society guitarist, Nick Catanese about the highlights of the Shot to Hell Tour so far.
Nick comments on the balance between the melodic and the heaviness in a BLS concert set.
"It has to be there. We are not a metal band. We have songs that you can sing along to and enjoy. That's where we are at. It's about quality and songs you can remember. That's what we want."
On the band's swing through Australia...
"Just seeing Australia for the first time was amazing. It is so beautiful, and the people are amazing there, too. There were great crowds and they rocked there asses off."
Nick comments on "The Crocodile Hunter" Steve Irwin, who died while BLS was in Australia:
"I really respect what he did for animals and everything. He seemed just like the most happy and loving life guy. I would have loved to (have) met him. But it seems all the beautiful people are needed upstairs. Dime , Steve, Randy, everyone."
In a parting shot out to fans preparing to see Black Label Society on tour:
Just sit back and enjoy, man. It's a cool set of new and old, some piano songs and just a SHOW. And to all the Black Label bashers on the boards, Iron Maiden does rule and I'm glad you hope we all die...because for your unfortune we are GOING NOWHERE, so suck on that!"
