MEANSTREAK are back after a 30 year hiatus. The all-female Heavy Metal act released their debut album Roadkill in 1988, and it is considered to be one of the best albums in its genre. MEANSTREAK disbanded in the early '90s, but reconnected during the worldwide lockdowns. On February 2, 2024 the group released their latest EP Blood Moon (Review on KNAC.COM HERE).

I had the chance to catch up with guitarist Rena Petrucci and drummer Yael Rallis to find out more about Blood Moon and MEANSTREAK. Together we discuss the new EP, their first tour in 30 years opening for John Petrucci, their vocalist breaking her wrist on opening night, CD versions and future vinyl versions of the EP, touring plans, how the band originally formed and evolved, competing in a male dominated Metal scene in the late eighties, how 3/5 of MEANSTREAK ended up married to members of DREAM THEATER, and much, much more.
