"We never announced that [SONS OF APOLLO] is breaking up"

ART OF ANARCHY (MK1) released their self-titled debut in 2015. The band featured brothers Jon & Vince Votta on guitar and drums, Jon Moyer (DISTURBED) on bass, Ron 'Bumblefoot' Thal (SONS OF APOLLO) on guitar, and the late Scott Weiland (STONE TEMPLE PILOTS) on vocals. For one reason or another, Weiland claimed he wasn't really a part of the band. There was a bit of dust-up behind the scenes as a result. The album would end up being Weiland's last, and the band would go on and dedicate it to his memory.

ART OF ANARCHY (MK2) featured the same rhythm section as its predecessor, with former CREED vocalist Scott Stapp stepping in. They released The Madness in 2017. While Stapp did manage to play a few shows live with ART OF ANARCHY, according to the Votta brothers, he was devoting more time to his solo career in breach of their agreed upon terms. Lawyers got involved and thus ended MK2.

ART OF ANARCHY (MK3) released their latest album Let There Be Anarchy on February 16, 2024. Joining them this go-round is vocalist extraordinaire Jeff Scott Soto (SONS OF APOLLO, TALISMAN, ex-YNGWIE MALMSTEEN). You know what they say? Third Scott's a charm! Also joining the band is longtime SOTO bassist Tony Dickinson.

I had the chance to catch up with JEFF SCOTT SOTO a few weeks before the band's Let There Be Anarchy Tour. Together we discuss ART OF ANARCHY's latest album Let There Be Anarchy, how he was recruited for the band, the stories behind the singles, their upcoming tour, and what to expect in the set list.

Soto also talks about the confusion over the status of SONS OF APOLLO, celebrating 40 years in the business, planned anniversary shows, his two man shows with JASON BIELER (SAIGON KICK), TALISMAN releasing a new song in honor of the late MARCEL JACOB, a new W.E.T. album on the way, a slew of lockdown recordings making their way to market, and much, much more.
