ELUVEITIE alumni Fabienne Erni and Jonas Wolf started ILLUMISHADE as a side project in 2019. Joining the Swiss duo were bassist Yannick Urbanczik, drummer Marc Friedrich, and Mirjam Skal on oncestration and synths. ILLUMISHADE released their debut album Eclyptic: Wake of Shadows independently the following year, and the music world took notice.
Freshly signed to Napalm Records, ILLUMISHADE released their sophomore effort Another Side of You on February 16, 2024. Though presented as a modern Melodic Metal album, Another Side of You is so much more with its cinematic presentation that crosses multiple genres.
I had the chance to catch up with vocalist Fabienne Erni and guitarist Jonas Wolf ahead of the album's release. Together we discuss their latest effort Another Side of You, the stories behind the singles, signing with Napalm Records, their recent European Tour with DELAIN, their upcoming North American Tour with KORPIKLAANI and VISIONS OF ATLANTIS, and much, much more.
