EXIT EDEN debuted in 2017 as a covers act. Formed by vocal powerhouses Clementine Delauney (VISIONS OF ATLANTIS), Anna Brunner (LEAGUE OF DISTORTION), Marina La Torraca (PHANTOM ELITE) and Amanda Somerville, the group's 2017 album Rhapsodies In Black featured Symphonic Metal covers of mainly mainstream pop acts such as RIHANNA, BACKSTREET BOYS, BONNIE TYLER, DEPECHE MODE, and others. Their cover of "Unfaithful" still plays frequently on my Favorites Playlist.
World events slowed the momentum EXIT EDEN was building after their debut, but 2024 sees the return of these unique songstresses with a couple of changes. Amanda Somerville had to depart, leaving EXIT EDEN as a trio. Plus, the group is no longer a strict covers act. Due out on January 12, 2024 through Napalm Records, EXIT EDEN's sophomore album Femmes Fatales features six original compositions and six covers (geared more towards Rock than Pop this time around).
I had the chance to speak with Clementine Delauney ahead of the album's release. Together we discuss the trio's latest album Femmes Fatales, as well as making the switch from covers to originals, losing founding member Amanda Somerville, working with producer Hannes Braun (KISSIN' DYNAMITE), why live performances won't happen before 2025, memories of performing at Wacken Open Air in 2018, working on the next VISIONS OF ATLANTIS album, their upcoming touring plans, and much, much more.
