A DVD of Rainbow titled "Live in Munich" will be released August 22. The recording is the only available live footage of the band's 1977-78 lineup, which featured Ronnie James Dio, drummer Cozy Powell, bassist Bob Daisley, keyboardist David Stone and guitarist Ritchie Blackmore.
The long rumored nine CD box set spanning Robert Plant's entire post Led Zeppelin recording history is set for release on September 12th through Rhino Records. Titled Nine Lives the box set contains all seven solo albums from Atlantic Records (as well as Universal's Dreamland and Sanctuary's Mighty Rearranger). The 10th disc, a DVD, includes an interview with Plant as well as music videos, performance footage, his Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction, and commentary from Phil Collins, Tori Amos, and Roger Daltrey, among others.
Sweden's Soilwork has resumed their search for a new guitarist, holding auditions in recent weeks. The band has announced that they're looking for a Swede: "We wanted a Swedish guitarist who lives close by...This has nothing to do with that we look down on guitarists or musicians outside Sweden (I bet there's a lot of guitarplayers that could manage the Soilwork stuff!). As we said, we're looking for a Swede, wanna be a rehearsing band again, hope you understand!"
According to a posting on Metallica's official web site, all nine shows from the band's recent European "Escape From The Studio '06" tour are now available for download (for a fee) via LiveMetallica.com. The shows reportedly include a "first-ever performance of The New Song, a performance of Nothing Else Matters with Jerry Cantrell (Alice in Chains) on vocals." According to the post, all nine shows have the complete Master of Puppets album played live.

On July 5th, Atlanta's Sevendust will enter Tree Studios in Atlanta to begin recording their sixth full length record. More details will follow soon. The as-yet-untitled album follows their 2005 release, Next, that was issued by Winedark Records, a label they parted ways with earlier this year.

SPV/Steamhammer has announced release dates for UFO's new studio album, entitled The Monkey Puzzle. The album will be available in Germany on September 22nd, most of the rest of Europe September 25th, and in North America on September 26th.
