On May 12, 2023, the MICHAEL THOMPSON BAND released The Love Goes On. The album marks the return of vocalist Moon Calhoun to the outfit. The last time Calhoun and guitarist Michael Thompson collaborated was on their 1990 highly-regarded quintessential AOR debut, How Long. In addition to his return, Calhoun brought his longtime songwriting collaborator Tom Croucier into the mix. I had the chance to speak with Michael, Moon, and Tom shortly after the release of The Love Goes On.
Highlights Include:
-Discussion of new album The Love Goes On
-Calhoun's return to MTB
-Moon & Tom's songwriting relationship
-Moon's music history (GAP BAND, RUFUS)
-Tom's background (LIFE BY NIGHT, SCORPIONS)
-Life events that inspired "Forever June" & "Wheelchair"
-The pros & cons of working with Frontiers Music

-Chances of performing live
-New album already under way
-Thompson's history as a studio musician
