Legendary Rockers SAXON are the Godfathers of the NEW WAVE OF BRITISH HEAVY METAL. With their brilliant songwriting made up of amazing riffs, dynamite vocals and lyrics, and stellar drumming - they influenced many great Rock and Metal bands for decades to follow. Drummer Nigel Glockler joined in 1981 and made his debut on the outstanding album Power And The Glory. 40 years later they would again release another killer record in that of Carpe Diem where they would indeed seize the day showing that they have much more steam in their Metal engine. Having recently released their follow-up covers album More Inspirations, I had a chance to talk to Nigel about it, the history of the band, his influential drumming - and much more.
