THEORY OF A DEADMAN wanted to get back to their roots for their 8th studio album Dinosaur, out on March 17, 2023. The Canadian foursome has turned up the distortion and brought back their tongue-in-cheek approach to lyric writing on their latest offering. Their return to form is apparent on the promotional singles “Dinosaur”, “Just The Two of Us” (Stuck)”, and “Ambulance”.
THEORY OF A DEADMAN are currently on the road with co-headliners SKILLET and support act SAINT ASONIA for the Rock Resurrection US Tour. Once completed, they’ll be headlining in their homeland for The Dinosaur Canadian Tour, and also joining DISTURBED for select dates. I caught up with bassist Dean Back to discuss the new album and tour, and to settle the query; Is it THEORY or THEORY OF A DEADMAN now?
Highlights include:
-Embracing their roots
-Discussion of latest album Dinosaur
-Stories behind the singles
-Recording in the same room vs remotely
-Working with longtime producer Martin Terefe
-Recording at ABBA’s old studio
-Benny Andersson (ABBA) paying them a visit
-Is it THEORY or THEORY OF A DEADMAN?
-US Tour with SKILLET & SAINT ASONIA update
-15th Anniversary of Scars & Souvenirs
-And much, much more
