Norwegian Glam Metal act WIG WAM went from being on the verge of their final break-up after 20 years, to 25 million+ Spotify streams. It was all thanks to an unlikely WIG WAM fan and renowned Hollywood director, James Gunn. Gunn chose the band’s 2010 song “Do Ya Wanna Taste It” as the opening theme for his hit HBO MAX television series Peacemaker. The series also features WIG WAM’s 2005 Eurovision Song Contest entry “In My Dreams”.
Capitalizing on their new found celebrity, WIG WAM is set to tour the US and Australia for the first time ever this year, and they are also set to release their 7th studio album, Out Of The Dark, on February 10, 2023 through Frontiers Music. I had the chance to catch up with frontman Åge Sten Nilsen ahead of the album’s release.

-Stories behind the singles
